COVID-19

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice.

Our disinfection and sterilization processes are designed so that you receive care in a safe and comfortable environment. Our office strictly adheres to guidelines made by the American Dental Association (ADA) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented an enhanced infection control protocol that exceeds regulatory requirements. As a result, you may notice that our office and our team will look a little different!

  • At the front desk, you will see a new plexiglass barrier when you check-in, schedule appointments, or make payments.
  • We have removed magazines, children’s toys, etc. from the reception area as these items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • There are a reduced number of chairs in the reception area to limit the number of people in the waiting room. We may request that you wait in your car to allow for social distancing.
  • In our clinical area, you will observe our staff now wearing face shields and full-coverage gowns in addition to our usual facemasks and gloves.
  • We have invested in a surgical-grade air filtration system that eliminates viruses, bacteria, allergens, and odors.

To safeguard the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and community, we ask for your cooperation on the following:

  • Kindly call to reschedule your appointment if you are ill, have diagnosed or suspected COVID-19 or been in close contact with anyone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
  • Before your appointment, please brush and floss at home to reduce congestion at the “brushing sink.”
  • Both our patient and accompanying parent are required to wear a face mask or alternative face covering when entering the office.
  • A supplemental health questionnaire and a supplemental informed consent form will be administered before the appointment begins.
  • Your temperature will be taken during the check-in process at the front desk.
  • Prior to sitting in a clinical chair, all patients will be required to rinse for 60 seconds  with a mouthwash containing 1.5% hydrogen peroxide, proven to kill human coronavirus.
  • To reduce the total number of people in the office at one time, we request that only the patient and one parent/guardian enter the office. Please keep non-patient family members and friends safely at home.
  • Hand sanitizer is located in the reception area. Please use it!
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. We have expanded our hours to account for this. We will do our best to minimize any disruption to your schedule.
